I received a Sam Goody gift card for my birthday and made a purchase through their online store in Dec. 2006. My purchase was $1.82 over the gift card amount, I charged to my credit card. After 2 months, Sam Goody cancelled my order and refunded me $1.82. I asked them to refund my gift card, since I threw it away after spending it. They refused. They told me it was my choice to discard the physical card (I didn't think I needed to keep a spent gift card)and they were not responsible for my error.
They refuse to give me an account credit or refund of any kind. Their customer service is horrible, the absolute worst I've ever encountered. At first all you get is auto-responders. Then when you get to a real person they are so rude you just want to hang up on them. I do alot of online shopping and I've never been treated this badly AND cheated out of my money. I was shocked at their blatant refusal to refund payment on an order they cancelled. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Sam Goody didn't respond. Needless to say, I will never, EVER shop at Scam Goody again.
