I am not the world's greatest athlete but I'm not bad either so in my free time I like being active. Probably my favorite sport, to play, is tennis. I have played since I was a kid and have kept it up ever since. Though I'm not quite what I was when I was in my late teens I think I'm still pretty good. So a month or two ago I decided to get a new racquet and I knew exactly where to look first.
Sportsauthority.com, or Thesportsauthority.com, is an excellent site. I chose it because I have been in many of their stores and they are always well stocked and service is friendly. I have also found that the stores have the largest selection of any sporting retailer.
So anyway, I decided to look for tennis racquets. I went to the home page and easily found a link to tennis on the menu bar on the left side of the screen. I clicked here and was given more options as well as shown a few products. Conveniently on the right side of the screen there was an "Info zone." From here I went to the buying guide on racquet/string.
I was amazed by the helpfulness of the site. When you enter the buying guide there is a very very long page with all the information you could possibly want to help you determine the best racquet for you so you aren't unhappy when it arrives. This includes finding you ability level, matching your racquet type, an explanation on all the components in a racquet, and also a guide to racquet string. Then there are also "Pro tips" where you can read advice from real tennis pros on many different topics so you improve your game.
After reading through all that and determining just exactly what I needed I set out to search for my product. I went back to the main page in the tennis section and chose the category I was looking for. I was very surprised at the selection. There were over 100 different racquets to choose from. I was given options such as finding a specific brand, price, etc. When I finally found a racquet I was able to choose the grip size, string type, string color, and string tension. They also clearly explain how to determine these.
After doing this you click "add to cart." Then you can go about and look for other things if you need to or checkout. When you check out you choose shipping from the normal options of regular, express, etc and enter your credit card information. There is no need to worry about entering your credit card because the use advanced encryption technology that is verified by Verisign.
If you need assistance you can call their customer support toll free 24 hours a day at 1-888-801-9164. I found the support very friendly and kind.
I have highlighted tennis here but you can find just about any sports production at sportsauthority.com. The other sections are just like the tennis and have buying guides, many options, and also pro tips to help you improve your game.
As for availability I rarely find an item not in stock.
The only problem that I experienced while using sportsauthority.com was that if a product was not in stock there was no notification service to tell you when it would be back. I'm sure the problem is being fixed and overall sportsauthority is the best sports retailer in cyberspace and in the real world.
They also promise on their homepage that they will have the lowest prices on the internet so you can be sure to get a deal here. I hope that your experience is just as good as mine so make sure to check out sportsauthority.com!
