The Bottom Line Yes, I do know it's not very big
I sampled many beers while in Eastern Europe last year. Apart from the Czech Republic, not many were particularly outstanding, but they were cheap. A beer I tasted in Hungary was Slazon Sör. I know nothing about the brewery and a web-search hasn't enlightened me, but it does give me the opportunity to enter sleeper54's Lean-n-Mean-Two W/O ---------------------------INTERLUDE------------------------ Why do mice have small balls? Very few can dance. ------------------------------------------------------------ Slazon Sör poured a pale, watery yellow with a billowing, foamy, long-lasting head - nice lace. It had a big malt aroma tempered by a musty, oaky tone with a vegetable trace. Medium-bodied, with a creamy, smooth mouthfeel, the malt taste dominated some earthy, woody and tea-like flavours. It had a slight tang in the finish with a relatively bitter aftertaste. The Verdict At 4.6% ABV, this beer was OK, but nothing special. Quite easy-drinking and refreshing but just a little unexciting. A basic pilsner-style lager, it cost 25p (35c) for a 500ml bottle. Thanks for reading, Sláinte ©proxam2003 |
