Hey there Don!
I've watched a few of the original series again recently, and still enjoyed them - incredibly cheesy but still a lot of fun! What passed for special effects in those halcyon days are hilarious, too!
Doubt we'll ever meet up at a convention though... :-D

So, you are a Trekkie, too!
I attended a "Star Trek" convention when I was 19 in 1976 in Louisville. I got to meet DeForest Kelley (got the mandatory signed photo, "To Don...") and he gave a speech in which he hinted at the first film (and also the possibility of a new series with the original cast, which, of course, didn't happen).
Anyway, I enjoyed your list.
Don :)

You're welcome, Dave. Just trying to make you be as accurate as you can. :-)
The Other, other, other, other Dave (so how long before this gets really silly?!?!?)
You mean it's not already? I've been expecting a visit from Graham Chapman for a while now (though the fact that he's dead may be why he hasn't shown up yet). :-)

Hmm... well, you may well be right - I think I lost interest long before that part, and after all, all Romulan women look the same to me... :-P Thanks for setting me right, though. (Still a lousy film, anyway...)

Hey Dave
I had to re-look at your review when I saw your comment on mine. :-) I can't disagree with any of your criticisms. I just enjoyed it. Sorry. :-)
On thing to take issue with, though (I think). You say:
And since the Romulan government member guilty of killing a lot of people and letting clone boy overtake Romulus is a woman, when she changes sides near the end, shes a friend for life. No talk of paying for her many war crimes.
I think you're referring to 2 different women. The assassin is Senator Tal'aura and the woman who changes sides near the end is Donatra.

Hey Marty!
Less of the 'ol! :-P
Nemesis was a huge disappointment, I can't believe how bad it was considering how good it could have been. If only the plot had made the slightest bit of sense!
Many thanks for the kind comments! I'm pretty sure you won't agree as completely with my "Top Ten Movies of All Time" though!!!

I Couldn't Agree More! (Reply to this comment)
by mmpickering
I have been a Star Trek fan since I was a wee little lad. I religiously watched through the 70's and 80's, and into the 90's with the additions of Star Trek (T.N.G.), Deep Space Nine, and even Voyager! I started losing a little bit of interest though, as my wife and children don't care for Star Trek at all, and I have been watching less and less television of the past several years. However, I own all of the Star Trek motions pictures (but none of the series videos), and after reading your "Top 10 List," I must say that I couldn't agree more! Wasn't Nemesis a little bit of a disappointment? I waited a long time, after seeing the preview trailer on TV, before purchasing the DVD. I didn't see it at the theater. I don't like movie theaters. Too many people! Anyway, I'm afraid to say that Star Trek may be losing it's edge on the movie business. I guess only time will tell.
Thanks for sharing your Top 10 List. It was an excellent read. Now I'm off to read your Top 10 Movies list as well. Keep up the good work ol' chap! :^D
Your Friend,
~ MARTY ~

the proper punishment for movies #1, 5, and 10 combined should be having to watch Shatner's overpricedcrap.com commercials on infinite repeat while filing.

No No No (Reply to this comment)
by AliventiAsylum, in Movies
LOL
I just can't see Insurrection #1, but that's probably my bias from having grown up with TOS every night at 6 PM. However, the moment that joystick popped up, that killed the whole movie for me, not that I thought it was better than The Wrath of Khan or The Undiscovered Country up until that point.
Nice list :-)

How can you include generations when you left out...
erm...
wait...
forget everything I just said!
I still believe Generations should be missing from ever top 10, even a Star Trek Top 10. I'd keep Nemesis where it is, but Generations down a step. Overall good placement though, even though 4 and 8 should be joint top!!!
