The Bottom Line They took 4 months because they lost the order and then were somewhat rude about it.

This is my little story of an internet business called Music123.com and my adventure to get a 7 string guitar. It's a little long so you might want to go grab a cup of hot chocolate and sit back and relax. I give you my saga.
Being a guitar player and being into the heavier side of music ever since I saw 7 string guitars I've been interested in them. Unfortunately every time I'd find one it would have a pretty large price tag attached to it. Well last summer I was working pretty much full time for my dad (52 hours a week) so I had money even though I'm the worst person at saving. About this time I discovered Ibanez's AX7221. A 7 string guitar that caught my eye as being different yet not ugly and at a price of $400. For those of you who don't play guitar that's about an average price. So I started shopping around to see if I could find it cheaper anywhere. Every time I'd go to a site it would say email for price and every time I would I'd get the same result, $400. So I accepted the fact that I was going to have to spend the $400 but it would be worth it. Then one day during my lunch break at work I was on music123.com and saw they had the guitar. I thought I hadn't tried their price yet so I might as well it can't hurt. To my surprise they had it for $300. I ordered it that day because I had the money. I was so excited I spent the extra dough for the overnight shipping.
After a small period of time I got an email telling me they appreciated my order but the guitar would be back ordered for a couple of weeks. I figured this wasn't there fault so I can only wait. After the couple weeks still no sign of the guitar. So I decided to email them. To my dismay a second time the guitar was still on back order for a couple MORE weeks. Those couple more weeks go by and my brother makes the joke that it'll be his birthday in September before I get my guitar. I laughed and thought yeah right I'll get it soon. Once again the time passed and no more guitar. This time I emailed them and asked once again what the deal was. This time (I swear they were trying to kill me with disappointment) they told me mid-September! My brother was right he'd see cake before I saw 7 strings.
Time passed over the summer as I counted the days for my new instrument to arrive. I couldn't wait. Finally it was mid-September. For a week or so I waited religiously for the UPS man at work. Every morning no guitar. With a sigh I sent out yet another email. Not much to my surprise I got a reply saying the guitars are still on back order for a few more weeks. I was about ready to give up. To save my fingers the typing and you the boredom let's just say this went on for another two months or so.
When I visited their site one night I noticed they had a thing where you could have a live chat with a sales person so I decided to see if I could learn a little more. Every night I'd get on and ask if they guitars were in and if not why. On only the third night of this I got the reply "Yes we have ONE in stock" I half jokingly asked the sales person "Is it mine?" And they rudely replied about how the chat was only to place orders not check on existing ones and I shouldn't be using that and email customer service (the same place I'd already emailed many a time to get the same result.......back order). I thought to myself here I've been waiting like 4 months for one little guitar and I asked three nights about it each night to a different sales person if they new anything all the time keeping my cool and just trying to make the best of it and this one time the guy gets mad at me for asking! I found this a tad bit rude, I know I know I'm starting to sound like Ann Landers but let's just say I wasn't happy.
So I did what he said and emailed customer service and told them I'd been waiting four months and that they had one in and I really wanted them to tell me it was mine. I got a reply saying that their servers had crashed a little bit after I placed my order months earlier and that they had lost my order but they found it again and would send it out the next day. Finally I thought I would have my guitar! By this point the overnight shipping was a little useless but they still sent it out that way and charged me for it. The guitar came and was in good shape and I was happy.
Two or three days later I get an email saying the credit card didn't go through and to call them at a certain number. I had ordered the guitar with my dad's credit card and gave him the money so we were sure it was in the account. He called the credit card company and they said they'd ALREADY CHARGED IT! After two more email we finally convinced them that they already got their money out of us and that it was all good.
In conclusion I must say this is probably just one bad unlucky experience and I'm sure they're a great company (other than the rude salesman). I still must say they had the best price but well.......the worst delivery. I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone I'd be more likely to send them to musiciansfriend.com or samash.com but I'm sure they're still a credible store. I just had to vent my experience to let those out there who may deal with this store know what may happen to them. Thank you if you read all this and I hope it helps someone!
