Pros: you can wear this up to 12 hours before changing it
Cons: it leaks
constantly worried that it was gonna pop out of place
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend this. It was more of a hassle then something helpful. I don't want to have to worry about bleeding everywhere

| lady81's Full Review: Instead Feminine Protection Cup |
I had come across this product thru the internet. After some time I decided to go to a regular store and purchase it from there. Not all drug stores carry this product. I was very excited to try this out and watched the video on their website www.softcup.com. The cup is about 2 1/4" long (the average side of tampon applicator) when you squeeze the pink sides together to insert into your vagina. It's rim is plastic and the collection cup is made of polyethylene. I sat on the toliet and inserted it just like a tampon and made sure that it went behind so it would collect the blood. It was very easy to get in and I did not need a lubricant. The next thing I had to do was to push the front of the rim behind my pubic bone and after a few goes I was able to do it. It will "click" into place when it goes behind your pubic bone. To make sure that it's in place you can stick a finger into your vagina and feel your cervix in the cup, it's very easy to do. Initially, I did like the cup when my period was just starting off. My flow was light and I didn't have any leakage. After I had urinated I pulled the cup out and notice that there was pee in the cup which means it popped out. I kept a close eye on it. I noticed that any time I coughed, laughed, sneezed it caused the cup to pop out behind the pubic bone which in turn caused it to leak on me when my flow started getting heavier. Constantly pushing the rim behind my pubic bone started making my insides become sore from the plastic hard rim digging into me. Even though this is a one size fits all, I thought that this was too large for me. When I am on my period my vaginal length is very small and with my middle finger I can only stick my finger in 2 knuckles deep til I can fully touch my cervix. If you are much deeper than that then maybe this will be a good product for you.
To remove this cup stick a finger into your vagina while sitting on the toliet and hook your finger underneath the rim while slowly pulling it out. You will not spill all over yourself if you keep a steady hand. Now that the cup is outside of you it goes back to it round shape. Empty the contents of the cup in the toliet and you must squeeze the sides of the cup together and wrap toliet paper around it and throw it in the trash can. The cups can not be flushed.
I just found a better alternative out there. There are reusable menstrual cups and I have had no problems with leakage and it is so much more comfortable than this disposable soft cup
