The Bottom Line Animated Movies Are Fun For All Ages
Who doesn't like a good animated movie? That's what I thought! Ok, well here's 10 that I think are really exceptional. In no particular order: Toy Story & Toy Story 2 - These two movies are great! It's birthday time and all of Andy's toys are nervous they'll be replaced by new toys. Led by Woody (Tom Hanks), a cowboy, the toys all wait to see what toys Andy got. To all their amazement, and dismay, Andy gets Buzz Lightyear. Buzz thinks he's the real Buzz Lightyear. And the fun starts from there. Toy Story 2, is a good sequel, that brings a new angle to the storyline. In this movie we find out that Woody is a rare toy from a popular children's show. A toy collector steals Woody, this prompts Buzz Lightyear to launch a rescue mission with the help of Andy's other toys! Toy Story was really revolutionary because it was the first feature length computer animated movie. Pixar is a great animation company. Finding Nemo - Another product of the Disney/Pixar team. Finding Nemo is the newest animate Disney movie to rule the box office. This is an emotional, yet funny and entertaining, movie about a slightly crippled fish - Nemo, that gets stolen from his reef by a scuba diving dentist. Nemo's sad, because he believes his dad didn't try to rescue him. But little does Nemo know that his dad is facing all the dangers of the ocean to save Nemo. There is lots of comedy, this is a great movie. Enjoy! Shrek - In the past years Dreamworks has broken into the animated movie scene and they're doing quite well. Shrek is a hugely popular movie about an ogre that meets up with a donkey and ends up rescuing a princess from a fierce dragon. There are a lot of spoofs of Disney characters and other fairy tale characters. Shrek has done well in the theater and DVD sales, luckily for us there's a sequel coming out soon! Shrek 2 already has trailers in theaters and on the internet. Monsters, Inc. - Sully, the big blue furry monster, and his one eyed sidekick Mike Wazowski they rule the screams of children. The two team up to make kids scream, thereby generating electricity for the monsters. A little girl Boo comes through the door and ends up in Sully's house with Wazowski. The two have a hard time keeping the child hidden from the authorities (children are treated like diseases). There's action and comedy for all, it's even slightly touching. Peter Pan - Peter Pan (1953 Disney version) is a really good film. It was the first and only Peter Pan movie I'd seen. It's the typical story of children who don't grow up, cruel pirates, mermaids, and of course Tinker Bell. Neverland is a fun place with Peter Pan. Mulan - Mulan poses as a man so she can join the Chinese army and fight the invasion of Huns. Mulan gets some help through boot camp from her sidekick Mushu, a little dragon that's always full of jokes. Mulan is a combination of computer graphics and classic animation. It's a really good movie. Lion King - This movie has some dark and violent parts and there's a couple crude jokes, but overall this is a really good movie. The music is also really good, Timon and Pumba provide the comic relief and they do so very well. Simba loses his father and his pride (kingdom) is taken over by an evil lion. Simba runs away and grows up with Timon and Pumba, then returns to reclaim his throne. A Bug's Life - Don't confuse this movie with Dreamwork's Antz. A Bug's Life is really funny, the big fat catapillar is probably the funniest. The un-lady like ladybug is pretty funny too. This is a story about Flik, an accident prone ant who accidentally destroys the seasonal food supply that the ants give to the grasshoppers. Eventually, with the help of bug circus performers Flik saves the ant colony from the grasshoppers. Aladin - This was a hugely popular movie about Aladin a poor boy who gets three wishes from a genie. The two team up so Aladdin can win the heart of the princess. But the evil Jafar foils their plans. Aladdin must use his wit and strength, with some help from genie, to defeat Jafar and win the princess. Bambi - True, Bambi's mother gets shot at the beginning of the movie, but everything gets better. Comedy is provided by the fuzzy little rabbit - Thumper. The skunk Flower joins the group and the three of them have adventures. Eventually Bambi grows up and finds a doe of his own. It's a good story.
