| annwork's Full Review: L. A. Weight Loss |
I followed the LA Weight Loss program for twelve weeks, and struggled with on it everyday, week on the diet. I did manage to lose 19.8lbs over the twelve week period, but felt very deprived in my food options.
My Plan consisted of:
3 vegetables (allowed to add an additional veg, total of 4)
3 starches
2 1/2 protein (averaging 6oz)
3 condiments
1 fat
1 dairy
2 LA Lite Bars(did not eat)
I did not eat the bars or take any additional supplement or drink offered within the program. Since I was not eating the bars I was allowed an additional vegetable (not sure how this added up to be equal to 2 LA Lite bars
The diet is VERY restricted, allowing extremely small portions sizes of fruits and vegetables but larger protein sizes(in my case). I happened to be able to obtain product information from two of the bars they offered, on average the bars contained 160-180 cal, 3-5g of fat and 2-3g of fibre. And first ingredients were sugar related(which in cereal/starch products they tell you sugar can not be within the first 5 ingredients).
Finally in my twelfth week on LA I really sat down to see if the program was for me. I did a comparison to WW (since I had been very successful on that program in the past). After calculating the points version of WW of what I was eating on LA, I was actually eating in the range 4-7 points a day over on LA(overall that seems like a lot of extra calories daily that was being allowed, especially in comparison with WW).
Therefore I decided to switch back to WW, this program enables MORE food variety within a set range of points per weight.
I realize that each person is different and loses weight differently, but this particular plan was NOT for me. I like a variety of foods in my diet which was NOT ALLOWED in LA.
I wanted a lifestyle changed NOT to deprive and starve myself of certain foods for the rest of my life!!!
