I've had this computer a few months and have been very impressed with the changes I find over my old computer. I really like the CD burner and have found it easy to use from the very first CD I created! I was able to transfer pictures from over 200 floppies to the hard drive (to burn on a CD) quickly and efficiently! It was a dream come true... removing the floppy clutter from my desk!
This computer is a 1.3 ghz with a 60 gig hard drive and 128 MB RAM , though I added another 128 MB RAM because of the work I do. The DVD drive is an added bonus as a CD ROM drive was all that was required. I have found the NVidia video card to be a plus. Everything looks super with this computer. I have enjoyed the bundled software MusicMatch, and the Easy CD Creator. I was able to quickly and correctly set up my current e-mail service and ran into no problems whatsoever in transferring my data from my old computer to the new one.
All my software was loaded quickly and easily with no glitches.
I create and run PowerPoint programs with numerous pictures, both scanned and digital camera photos. This computer hums along doing what I require of it with no problems. (Quite a change from my old computer!)
The only problem I have run into is the Windows ME operating system sometimes not wanting to read my floppies. An HP customer support rep, lead me through the process to check the floppy drive and informed me of the problem. Windows ME sometimes has a problem reading floppies that were formatted in DOS since ME doesn't use DOS. I was finally able to save the pictures to the hard drive, I've not had anymore problems there. Floppies formatted in ME have caused no problems, though I still don't have much to say about Windows ME. I have been pleased with most of my HP products and recommend the HP line of computer products to all my family and friends.
