Despite free shipping, cooperative telephone reps, and no hassles in returning, someone 'working' in the B&H shipping department must be asleep at the wheel.
"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."
Or was it that I am a nice person and wanted to give them a second chance? I can understand a cheap piece of wood or a rock being shipped carelessly in cheap, non protective padding. When its nearly $1,000 in camera and lenses, I expect more.
Shipping was fairly expeditious but they took their time in refunding my money. I decided to give them a second chance but my experience was no better the second time.
The camera and lens were pushed into the corner of the box, not carefully wrapped completely in bubble wrap or packing peanuts. The box was barely secured shut by the hodgepodge taping job, and the box itself looked like it had been molested by a gorrilla. This was not the experience once but both times. I have read some of the photo forums on the internet and it appears this is not an isolated incident.
