So I reading your review and think "I have Probe on my bookshelf" but turns out it was another science-fiction book called Probe (by Carole Nelson Douglas). Good review, often it is very hard to review books of those we know and care for.

but this seemed like a very objective analysis to me. The very fact that you were able to criticize Lerner's treatment of women in the novel would also seem to indicate that, at least in real life, your father has succeeded in providing an environment in which his females do not feel threatened to speak their minds. Congrats to you and him both on a job well done!
