The Bottom Line Help me pick a special poem for my sister's first child. Please!
My sister will be having her first baby any day now. I am very excited. I had decided that I would honor the birth of her first child by writing a poem for her and the baby. I am going to be framing the poem and giving it to her when the baby is born. Of course I already purchased the normal gifts (outfits and toys) but I wanted to do something a little more personal. The thing is that I always have a little trouble evaluating my own work. I am overly critical sometimes. I have two poems written up, one short and sweet and the other a bit longer. They are both newly written. I am asking that you help me choose one to use or if they aren't good enough for my purpose please let me know and I will start anew. I am only asking that you please leave me a comment or email me and let me know what you think so that I am able to make a better choice.

A little angel
sent from heaven
worth more than gold
full of love
for me to hold
Tiny fingers one through ten
touch my heart
hold my soul
change my life
as they grow
Soft skin so fragile
precious to touch
beautiful to see
stirring emotions
inside of me
Curious eyes with new sight
stare into mine
always unblinking
penetrate my soul
without thinking
Wrinkled feet so small
not yet walking
kicking away
will carry you
to me one day
Pure heart beating
calling out to me
love unlike I've known
creating a bond
much stronger as you grow
A little angel
sent from heaven
worth more than gold

for me to hold
