Well hey - I've had this review in draft for eons - I didn't purposely post it in the Summer. But you know, sometimes the Summer is a great time to pull out the Christmas movies.

What is with TBS and A Christmas Story (Reply to this comment)
by JAGUARDOG
Last Christmas and the Christmas before TBS showed A Christmas Story ALL DAY back to back. Why would they even consider showing the same Movie so many times back to back when there are a ton of good Holiday Movies to show?

You do make neat choices - and here I though you were a sophisticated business woman. Heck, you are as much of a kid at heart as this old great grandma. Loved your choices, and most of them are my favorites too.

Old pmills1210 is on to something here, Kristin. If you liked CHRISTMAS STORY, there are hundreds of hours of Jean Shepherd's stories and observations, recorded from his disk jockey and other live performances, out of New York.

Merry Christmas, in July?

when I bought the 20th anniversary edition of "A Christmas Story" and checked out all of the extras. One of them was Jean Shepherd himself, telling a couple of the stories that inspired the movie. That alone made the DVD worth its money. You also get to see some of the kids as grownups. Thanks for sharing!

Sincerely, Pat

Love your writing, Kristina! Seeing these movies through your words makes me appreciate them more than ever, even in June when warm weather puts Christmas way out of mind. Now I want to read all 1154 of your articles!

such a list this time of year, you might check out "Christmas in July," which is also good in any season.
