You may want to check other places to get your TIVO Hard Drive

I was very happy with the hard drive kit I got from Weaknees for my DirecTV TIVO. Now, 7 months after purchase, the hard drive started going bad again.
I contacted them yesterday and they blamed the bad HDD on bad power in my house. No other device in my house has had problems. I suspect there's not enough cooling for the newer (and larger) HDD they supplied (a 160GB Western Digital).
Their service is warranted for only 6 months. If I sent them the drive, they would "evaluate it" and, if the drive was bad, provide a replacement drive. However, it would cost me $79 to format the drive with the proper TIVO image. AFTER ONLY 7 MONTHS?
I like my TIVO. But, I think I'll use another company to get my next drive from.
