You're entitled to your opinion - and I don't agree with you. It's just as important to talk about the story as it is to analyze the movie. My review is also not a re-write; it is a synopsis. If this were a real re-write, that would be plagiarism.

Thanks David. The theater wasn't as full where I went, but a lot of people enjoyed it. Perhaps the film will get some recognition at the next Oscars. We'll see what other films grab our attention like this one.

...fantastic movie. I enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. I even shed a few tears during it. The theater was packed - every seat taken. I could tell that everyone loved it. I hope some of the actors get awards when it is time for them to be given out. This movie has to be the surprise of the year. Your review was excellent!!

Agreed.
One of Shelly's last film's was Bent Hammer's FACTOTUM. It is recently out on DVD. She has just a small part, but a good one.

Thank you too, Teresa. I am fortunate to live by a multiplex that's big enough to accommodate one or two art films most weeks. Films like this are often so much better than any big release. I hope I have the chance to catch up to some of Shelly's other work sometime.

Not every slice of life will be good, but the sweetness is there for people who know how to recognize it.
Had to say this: your final sentence is a thing of beauty!
Wish this would show already at my local multiplex, but not likely to happen. So sad to know Adrienne Shelley will not be making any more films (loved her in Hal Hartley's stuff).
