Many consider Motown Records to be the father of modern day Rock and Roll. If so, then Atlantic and Chess Records MUST be considered the Grandfather.

See what I miss, living in Arizona. I was wondering how they got such big stars.

Well, I was dealing with the 50s and 60s so no harm.

Atlantic Records has been owned by the Warner Music Corporation since at least the Seventies, so it is unquestionably a major label...
