What a great way to become better acquainted with other Epinionators and catch up on news and info on Epinions.

I found it a pleasant way to spend time with intelligent people and catch up on Epinions news and gossip. Now that my previous plans for March 13th have washed out, I'm looking forward to next M&G in Orange County. It's a bit of drive, but if the members on the Right Coast could do it for New York, I figure I can too.

I definitely recommend going if one comes to your locale.

Hey there,
I finally got around to finding you on Eps. I have more work to do at work these days, so I probably won't be spending any time over at Ciao.

This sounds so fun! I hope they do the next meet and greet in Boston, which is one of the options they are looking at.

Cheers,
Becky

I understand. Not everyone is into the time and expense of traveling long distances. I'm just someone who looks for excuses to go places.

But who knows? If people request Indianapolis as a M&G site, we might just see you at one yet.

The story about Sweeper actually made me laugh. Pity I'll probably never attend one of these things, not even in Chicago . . . I live in Indianapolis, but I'm not likely to drive more than, say, 30 miles to meet a bunch of people in real life for the first time. Call me shy or antisocial or miserly if you must.

Deborah,

You don't have to go to a M&G just because Epinions has one in Chicago, but I hope that you would. I found it a very congenial way to spend the afternoon.

I'm glad you enjoyed my report and maybe we'll meet at one eventually.

Thank you for reading, rating, and commenting.

Considering the number of people who lived in San Jose at that M&G, it seems Epinions should have its next Bay Area M&G in the South Bay. I hope you can make the next one.

My boyfriend is diabetic, but the use of animals in medical research is one I really don't like to dwell on, especially after someone told me that cats have a nervous system similar to ours. I start thinking about my critters. The animals who have been sacrificed in the name of diabetic research have not been in vain. Ironically, my parents have a diabetic cat who has benefitted from this research as well.

Thanks for reading, rating, and commenting.

I'm glad you liked it.

Next time I'll pay more attention when you come to chat with Carlene.

Adrienne:

This may be the finest report on a Meet & Greet that I have read. It was so very interesting! Your report was full of honesty, interesting facts, and humor. I'm in Chicago, and the thought of a Meet & Greet here, scares the hell out of me!

My best,
Deborah~

I just ran across your name in in LILvoyce's animal cruelty review and wanted to see who you were and low and hehold we're from the same town. Fancy that! Yes, you're right about the dogs being used in diabetic research. I could cite many other examples of animals being used in diabetic research too. And in fact, it wasn't so long ago that diabetics used pork insulin, which in fact had gave better control (from what I heard) that the first synthetic insulin. My son is a Type I and sees the wonderful team of endocronolgists at Stanford. I am so fortunate that we live in the Bay Area.

I thought about going to the meet and greet but it conflicted with my schedule. So busy that time of year. Yes, do it again, but closer to San Jose . . . LOL!

Take care,

You covered the event nicely. Would have made me jealous had I not been there.

For sending me the URL for this site. I didn't get the word, and stuck my account in the Writers Corner. (Thank you, too, for posting at the bottom of your review the URL's of my effort and other attendees.) It was most pleasant to meet you and the rest.

I must note that each of us has raised a mystery. One of us has Alexis leaving the next day on an Epinions mission to the Middle East. Another has a body count at some variance with other memories.

Meanwhile, let me thank you for a beautiful account, one in keeping with your vivacious personality.

Regards.

Geez, Doc, now you're really going to have me worried. A string of surgeries? I'm having flashbacks of the one I had a few years ago. I hope you'll be all right.

It would have been nice to meet you in San Francisco, but your health is more important.

Not that I want to push you into something you don't want to do, ...but you could make a weekend vacation out of it. ...It could be an opportunity to review a hotel....

Never mind me. I'm always thinking. I hope you can make to the Chicago M&G, which I'm sure will be one of the next two organized, judging by the decisive tone in Nirav's voice.

I guess that shows my ignorance of Sex in the City. I have yet to see a full episode of that show.

As far as timing is concerned, attending was no problem for me, I was just unable to concentrate on my writeup of the M&G before this time. It would have been much worse in December, since it would more likely conflict with holiday celebrations. One advantage to the San Francisco location is that I believe we saw more Epi emps there than previous ones did.

I hope we'll see you at a future one.

I really wanted to go to this one too, but the timing was just bad. :/

If the next one is in Texas in March, There is a small chance I can work that one out.. better chance a month or two later... starting a string of surgeries on Tuesday so it'll all depend on how those go. *grumble*

I was bummin' that I couldn't hit this one. I'm sure they'll do another out there though, and hopefully better timed for me.

.........sharing your experiences with the Meet and Greet with us. I would so love to get to one of them, but not sure that will ever happen.

If they did do Chicago, that would be the closest to me.....but still about 5 hours away. Not sure, but I would love to go.

Make it a great day......kath

I think (Reply to this comment)
by bops_mom
a lot of the lack of people had to do with the time of year. I was unable to make it and knew I wouldn't be able to, so I didn't bother doing an RSVP. I was sadly disappointed they did it mid-Nov as I'd have loved to meet up with other Epinions members.

Also you said:

"....Tiffy0380...She is trim, attractive, and her profile shot looks wrong."

As far as I know, Tiffy0380 has never put a photo of herself up on her profile page. She tends to use images of the Sex and the City cast.
