"Better Than Sex Cake"???

The Bottom Line Do I recommend it? Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Uh, I mean, sure, yeah... whatever. LOL
"Mmmmm, what kind of cake is this?"
When I asked that question of my 13-year old student, she blushed to the roots of her hair and suddenly became too shy to speak! She had brought two slices of delicious smelling cake as a snack for her and a treat for me (I am her tutor). My eyes were drawn to its dark chocolate; the sweet whipped cream wafted to my nose, and those bits of toffee were calling my name....
Being that I am sugar sensitive I try to steer away from the desserts that will put me into a month long sugar coma, but this....this was irresistible! I had to try it, I had to have it! I was drawn to it like a bee to honey!
Finally, after telling her that it was okay, she really could tell me the name of the cake (what was the big deal, I thought?) she reluctantly whispered, "It's called 'Better Than Sex Cake.'"
Thank goodness I was sitting down! I asked her where, pray tell, she'd gotten the recipe - all the while praying that that was an appropriate question! LOL She told me that her mother had gotten it years ago from her aunt, and it's been kind of a family joke since; imagine telling Grandma that this is "Better Than Sex Cake." 'Nuff said...
So, without further ado, here is the very simple recipe:
BETTER THAN SEX CAKE
Ingredients:
1 chocolate cake mix (better yet, made-from-scratch cake if you are so inclined)
1 can sweet, condensed milk
1 jar caramel topping
1 multi-pack package of Heath Bar candy bars, crunched up (or any brand of chocolate toffee bars)
1 small carton of Cool Whip
Preparation:
Prepare cake according to package directions (or make from scratch) and pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 baking pan. Bake according to directions for that type of pan. Let cool on a wire rack.
Poke holes in the cake with a wooden skewer. Mix the condensed milk and caramel; pour this mixture over the cake. Sprinkle most of the Heath bits over cake; spread half of the Cool Whip over cake. Sprinkle with the remaining Heath Bits. Chill through and enjoy!
The Result: "Better Than Sex Cake":
You will love this extra moist, ultra-chocolatie, very rich, very sweet, very satisfying chocolate cake that gives you an interesting pleasure in taste, texture, and extreme "sugar high." I can only handle a tiny piece, so be aware of how rich this cake is.
Does it really live up to it's name?
I plead the 5th on the grounds that it may so totally incriminate me! LOL
