Getting To Know Each Other Writeoff
This is part of a writeoff hosted by sarahlovesadam. It's called the Getting To Know Each Other Write-Off and, unusually, I had some spare minutes, so here it is...
Birth date: April 4th, 1972
Height: 6' 2"
Eye color: Iceberg Blue
Hair color: Dirty Blond
What does your name mean: My real name (Michael): "Godly One" -- Yeah, I always thought that was a bit lofty (and kind of a tough standard to live up to, knowwhatimean?), but that's what Michael means, so I suppose I'm stuck with it. My nickname/epinions handle (Grez): It's just a shortening of my last name (Gresley) by my friends, which is one hell of a lot better than the nicknames I had before that...
High school graduation year: 1990
Favorite relatives: I have a pretty cool family...weird, but cool. Picking a favorite would be kinda harsh...but, I am probably closest with my brother.
Summer memory: Climbing several peaks in the Rocky Mountains as a teenager, taking a cycling tour from southern Indiana to Winnepeg, Canada.
Favorite TV shows: I don't watch too much TV, but I'd have to say The Simpsons and 24.
What's on your mousepad: At work: a Wright Brothers Centennial of Flight celebration MP that my Dad brought to me. At home: a wacky, circular, orange-and-black concentric circles trippy thing.
In the car- ac or windows: I live in Houston, so AC is necessary 95% of the time because of the heat and humidity. However, it gets pretty nice in the winter sometimes, so then I'll hit the highway with the windows down and the radio up.
Do you believe in yourself: You bet your sweet booty I do.
Favorite game: I'm assuming we're talking about board games here: Zobmondo, Cranium, Balderdash
Favorite drink: (insert Monty Python singers here) Beer beer beer beer beer beer beer beer. I actually drink a lot of water during the day, but I'm a beer snob and enjoy a cold brew or two in the evening.
Favorite food: Anything spicy -- the hotter, the better. I grow my own habaneros in the back yard...I'll just slice 'em up and put 'em on pizza.
Favorite colors: Red, Black, Blue
Favorite cigarettes: I don't smoke.
Favorite sounds: A perfectly tuned kick drum, a Chevy V8, breaking waves, Karen Berquist's voice (singer for Over The Rhine), rolling thunder

Favorite soundtrack: Singles, The Crow, The Last Temptation of Christ ("Passion" by Peter Gabriel)
Where do you see yourself in 10 years: Once my band gets signed to a major label and I have a seven-figure income, I'll buy a private island and put my recording studio on it so that my buddies can come live there as well. It'll also give me time to write the great American novel. Ok, a guy can dream, can't he?
First thought in the morning: @#$%! Is it morning already? (I stay up too late)
Do you get motion sickness: Nope
Rollercoasters- deadly or exciting: Exciting, exciting...loved 'em since before I was tall enough to ride them. The higher and faster, the better.
How many rings before you answer the phone: Usually two, because that's how long it takes caller id to kick in.
Are you a good friend: I'm not perfect, but I think that I try harder than a lot of people.
Chocolate or Vanilla cake: Yellow or lemon cake, but I'm more of a pie or ice cream guy than a cake guy. And chocolate cake is just too rich.

If you could dye your hair one color, what would it be: I like mine just the way it is, thank you very much.
If you could have a tattoo, what and where would it be: Something that visually encompasses my view of life and how I fit into the Universe at large. I'd probably get it on my upper arm or my back.

Have you ever been in love: I'm married, so I'd better be. ;-)
What's on your walls in your room: Paint. Now, I do have a few things hanging on them as well...
Is the glass half-empty or half-full: It is obvious that the specifications involved in the glass design were overstated for the target volume of water intended for use in this scenario.
Which do you prefer - Cool Ranch or Nacho Cheese Doritos: Neither...get me Bob's Texas Habanero chips.
Favorite flavor Snapple: I like that mango-peach thing they make

Most humiliating moment: I can't talk about it...it's too embarrassing. No no no...actually, I don't get embarrassed too easily and kind of just let things roll off of my back. I mean, I'm sure that I got caught waxing the dolphin or something when I was a kid, but nothing's coming to mind just now. Sorry that I couldn't be more entertaining on this one.
Favorite Holiday: Christmas, with Halloween in second place.
So those are the basics about me, according to Sarah's "Getting To Know Each Other" score sheet. Peek in on some of the other entries in the writeoff...some are really funny.
