The Pearl Dagger

The Bottom Line Please be gentle. Ive never publicly posted a poem, and this one is from back in high-school.

The Pearl Dagger

Holding the Pearl Dagger by my ear,
It resonates with my dreams and fears.

It knows my Loves, it knows my Fate,
It knows my Death, it knows my Hates.

It glowed and pulsed,
Light and sound,
A quick Crescendo,
With what I found:

The Beast approached fluid and swift,
Pain a mercy, death a gift.

Rain and Thunder! I hear The Oncoming Storm,
And the Beast only looks more deformed.

I ready the Pearl Dagger in my hand,
but my Hourglass of Life, runs low on sand.

The Beast leaps, bloody maw,
But the Pearl Dagger answers my call.

More powerful than a two-edged sword,
I thrust the dagger through it's spinal cord!

The Beast falls heavily with a thud,
But my vision blurred with sweat and blood.
My knees then buckle
I heave my last breath in the mud.
