I got my BLACK & DECKER SMART POWER BOOST MIXER in a strange way. My neighbor's wife left him and he gave all her stuff away! Luckily for me that included the mixer and a few other things.

I have to say BLACK & DECKER is a brand I was familiar with in name only. I had never owned or used any of their products, but their reputation was well known to me. I knew they made tools but never really thought about small appliances and was pleasantly surprised when I received this one. I was so pleased that I went on to buy the BLACK & DECKER Space Maker Can Opener.

****APPEARANCE****
My BLACK & DECKER SMART POWER BOOST MIXER M175 is about 8 inches long and maybe 3 inches at the widest point. The color is white with gray highlights. All controls are located at the top front of the hand grip for easy one hand operation. The beater release is under the hand grip and is a "pull-up" type lever thingy. There are 5 speeds, 1 being the lowest and 5 the highest. There is also a "power boost" button located beneath the speed selector. If you are familiar with my other small appliance reviews you know I have a thing for cords. I have an extremely small kitchen and only one counter. Cords are important to me. When I unfastened the cord imagine my surprise when I found it is about 36 inches long!!!! A definate plus to me! The beaters are thick four sided, stainless steel.

****EASE OF USE****
I found the BLACK & DECKER SMART POWER BOOST MIXER M175 a breeze to use. Even cream cheese straight from the fridge is easily softened with the power boost. Cake mixes and boiled potatoes are blended in a snap. What used to take minutes now takes just seconds.

****CLEAN UP****
Clean up is easy too. Just squeeze the release lever to release the beaters and wash them in the dishwasher or in the sink. The mixer itself is made of a sturdy plastic and a quick wipe with a damp cloth is all it takes to clean it.

****WARRANTY****
While my mixer was an unpackaged "gift", I have to assume that, like most BLACK & DECKER products it comes with a standard 1 year parts warranty.
