It's been 4 weeks now that I've been doing some heavy Spring cleaning and I'm almost done. It's a chore that I really don't enjoy doing, but I know that it has to be done. And now that the heat is not coming on anymore and I can keep my windows open, I figured it was a good time to get this cleaning done. I've been painting walls, touching up paint spots on some of my wood work, shampooing carpets, taking down all of my blinds and washing them along with several other cleaning jobs that just had to be done.
Now that the worst part of Spring Cleaning has been done, I'm just finishing up doing my weekly basic household cleaning jobs. I like to try new cleaning products out when I come across them in the store. So when I spotted the words Antibacterial and Disinfectant on the front of the this Spic and Span Everyday Spray Cleaner bottle in our market I thought it would be worth trying it out. It's the first time that I've ever seen a Spic and Span cleaner in a spray bottle. It only cost $2.69 for a 40 oz. bottle. I've recently saw it in our Dollar Tree Store for $1.00 for a 22 oz. spray bottle, and in Walmart for 97 cents for the 22 oz. size also.

The first thing I cleaned when I first started using this Spic and Span spray cleaner was on the top of my fridge. I don't know about you, but I never think to clean the top of my fridge very often. The other day the clock that I have over the fridge on my wall had stopped working, because it needed a new battery in it. Got my little step stool and climbed up to take my clock down. And WOW was I surprised to see all the dusty greasy type of dirt that had accumulated on top of the fridge. Got down and got my Spic and Span spray cleaner and sprayed it to the whole top of the fridge and worked it in a little bit with a sponge. I let it set for 10 minutes because the dirt build up was so bad. Then I took an old dry dish towel and wiped the whole top of the fridge. I had to apply the cleaner again as there were still quite a few dirty spots that the cleaner didn't quite fully remove. After waiting 10 minutes I wiped the surface down again. Finally the soiled spots did disappear after the second application. Now the top of my fridge was nice and clean once again. I guess I'll have to clean the fridge top more often, if I don't want it to build up with such a dirty greasy grime. After that I cleaned the front exterior and sides of my fridge also. I found it did remove a few spots of smudged on food from the handles also.
BATHROOM CLEANING-----Next I went into the bathroom to try it in there. I liked the idea that it was a disinfectant and a deodorizer, especially for cleaning the sink and the toilet. Sprayed the sink and toilet and waited for about 10 minutes, and then wiped both down well with paper towels. It did a great job on cleaning them both.
Next I sprayed the whole bathtub down good and waited for it to work in. After about 5 minutes I took my bath tub brush and went over the tub well working it in and then rinsed the tub out well. I do admit that it did clean any soap scum that was on my bath tub, but it didn't leave my tub nice and shiny looking afterwards like other bathroom cleaners did. So I sprayed the tub again and waited for 10 minutes. I then scrubbed the tub with my brush and rinsed the tub once again. I finally got the shine back in the tub. I probably didn't wait long enough the first time for the cleaner to work in.
If you do happen to find an area that has built up dirt and grime, then you may find that you have to apply the Spic and Span Spray cleaner with a second application.
SCENT---I really liked the light fresh citrus scent. It left my bathroom smelling quite nice. And I found that it wasn't a strong caustic odor so it wasn't necessary to keep my bathroom window open all while using it.
WASHER & DRYER APPLIANCES-----My washer and dryer are down in my basement. My basement isn't done over so it can get dusty and dirty. I have to wash my washer and dryer off quite frequently because of dust build up. Every so often my husband will throw in a load of dark clothes in the washer. I have a cup that's built into the top of my agitator in the washer where I fill it with Downy. My husband usually manages to drip some of the Downy down the front of the washer while pouring the softner into the cap of the Downy bottle and then pouring it into the fabric softner cup on my agitator.
All I have to do is spray the washer and dryer down and wipe over them with a sponge, and let them air dry. No scrubbing is really needed here.
I also have a small upright freezer in the basement. My husband will freeze many kinds of veggies that he grows from his garden and keeps them in the freezer. We also have a small fridge that I keep in the basement as well. We keep bottled water, Gatorade, and soda in the fridge. These appliances do get dusty also. So the Spic and Span Spray cleaner helps to keep the outside of these appliances looking nice and clean.
DOORS-----My kitchen door that goes into my garage will show grease and dirt on it by the door knob at times. Just a quick spray with my Spic and Span spray cleaner, and it removes any dirt that happens to be there. It's nice for other doors also. My sink in my bathroom is in the corner of my bathroom. So it does show soap scum spots from washing up in the sink on the door. And when my grandson stays over on weekends I will even find toothpaste stain spatters on the wall next to my sink also. So this Spic and Span Spray Cleaner does a good job on the doors as well as walls also.
CAUTIONS:
The back of the label does state that that it can cause moderate eye irritation. Avoid any contact with eyes or clothing. It's also a good idea to use rubber gloves when using cleaning products, as I always do. If you don't wear gloves, then wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Can also be hazardous to pets and humans if not used correctly.
DISINFECTING-----According to the label, you can use the Spic and Span spray cleaner on stoves, counter tops, tables or any appliances that do come in contact with food. You should always spray about 6-8 inches from that surface and avoid breathing in the spray as your using it. Then let the surface remain wet for at least 10 minutes. You can wipe dry or let the surface air dry. Being these surfaces do come in contact with food they should always be sprayed down after with water and rinsed off thoroughly.
I don't like using any cleaning products on my table or counter or any area that does come in contact with food. I have a squirt bottle that's filled with water, and I add a few drops of bleach to the water. This is what I use to disinfect and clean any of those areas that do come in contact with food. I even use it to clean the inside of my microwave and the inside of my fridge.
WHERE NOT TO USE-----Do not use this Spic and Span Everyday Spray Cleaner on any utensils, dishes, or glassware.
STORAGE AND DISPOSABLE-----Even though my grand kids are all older now, I still keep my cleaners up on a shelve in my closet. If you do have small children then it's really a good idea to keep this Spic and Span Spray Cleaner up and away from children and pets. Always store it upright and not on it's side and never reuse the empty container. Always discard the empty container in the trash or it can also be recycled.
INGREDIENTS LISTED ON THE FRONT LABEL:
Octyl decyl dimethyl ammonium chloride
Dloctyl dimethyl ammonium chloride
Dldecyl dimenthyl ammonium chloride
Alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride
I have a small kitchen plastic waste container in my kitchen for disposing left over foods paper plates etc. Every now and then I have found a few food stains that manage to get dropped on the floor by the waste container, so I do have to check the floor often for any dried stains. When I do come across a few stains all I have to do is just give a quick spray of the Spic and Span Spray Cleaner, rub the stain a little and the stain is gone.
The other day I went to our Dollar Tree Store and purchased one 20 ounce bottle of Spic and Span Everyday Antibacterial Spray Cleaner for $1.00. I'm keeping this 20 ounce bottle on a shelf in my basement for cleaning my appliances down there.
MY FINAL NOTE:
I like the way the Spic and Span Everyday Antibacterial Spray Cleaner gets my household jobs Clean, Deodorized and Sanitized. Even on some tough stains, I didn't have to do a lot of rubbing, but I had to apply a second application to the area. It did a nice job on cleaning many surfaces in my house. I really like the the fresh scent, it's very light and pleasing to smell. When this Spic and Span Spray bottle is gone I will buy another bottle and keep it just for my kitchen use for cleaning all of the exterior surfaces of my kitchen appliances and for cleaning my bathroom also. It's a very inexpensive way to clean, deodorize and disinfect several surfaces in my home. Way to go Spic And Span!!
Thanks for reading!!!
