This product was introduced to me by a printer repair vendor who comes in for printer maintenance at the company I work at. He uses it to remove labels off printer rollers. I was amazed on how the stuff worked so I picked up a bottle at my local drug store.
Application
This stuff works as a "soak-through" solution for stickers, labels, and adhesive tapes. You literally let it drench itself onto the adhesive and in a minute or so, the adhesive comes right off. It really does work! I also used it to remove gum off my daughter's shoe, and it works without leaving any adhesive residue.
That odor!
While this stuff is made out of citrus-like compound and smells like oranges, I found it a bit overwhelming when you are exposed to it after a while. You have to be careful with this stuff since it is labeled as a poison. Kids may think it is some type of citrus treat, not knowing how toxic it really is. Keep this stuff away from kids and wipe off all residue from the surface to prevent little children from licking the stuff! The best bet is to work with latex gloves since this stuff (and its smell) gets on everything. Have paper towels, soap, and water handy.
Not-so-great shelf life
This stuff doesn't have a good shelf life. After a year being stored in a utility closet, the odor coming from the bottle becomes very unpleasant and smells like bad oranges. I had to throw it away because it stunk up my office when I tried using it. Airing my office out was a chore in itself. While the stuff still worked after a year, the foul smell of it was enough for me to trash the unused half of the solution that remained.
Conclusion
This stuff works and it works good. It is perfect for removing all types of adhesive gunk, gum, crayon marks, etc. Prolong exposure to the odor may be too much to some (like myself). Buy the smaller one if you are an occasional user and the bigger one if you remove adhesives for a living. This stuff should be thrown away if kept for over a year unless you are the type that is unfazed with chemical odors.
