Not at my age. (Reply to this comment)

How about if you're in your late 40s and know that if you have it done, you likely are swapping one problem for another? I've been nearsighted since the age of 10. Because of it, I can still see very well close up without glasses or contacts. That is rather unusual for someone my age. Nearly everybody I know who is around my age has reading glasses or bifocals. I know that if I have my distance vision fixed, I will lose the ability to see close up without assistance. I admit I don't like the idea of fixing one problem and creating another. I've have several eye doctors tell me this is exactly what will happen if I get it done.

It went terribly wrong for my girlfriend. (Reply to this comment)

She is a diabetic and ended up going back for 3 months of treatment. She is back to wearing glasses and is out a lot of money.
My husband is a diabetic and would love perfect eye sight. However, seeing what misery she went through, he decided against it.
Glad yours worked out well for you.
Susie.

to read about how well Lasik has seemed to work for you. I totally agree about blanket statements - then again, I feel that way about anything, not just Lasik. :)
Welcome to Epinions!
