The Bottom Line Ideas are cool

Since my friend germericanqt has posted her Top 10 W/O in various categories, I thought I’d follow suit. My purpose is to

A) Give people a better idea of what I’m like (and what I like).
B) Hopefully inspire people to share their feelings.
C) Encourage discussion.

So, without further ado…

Top 10 favorite movies of all time
Nah, this is too hard. Instead, how ‘bout I share my Top 10 Movie moments of all time? If you wonder why other “famous” moments aren’t on this list, it’s either because I haven’t seen the movie or don’t feel it belongs here. Or, I just forgot about it…

1. The Godfather, Part I. Horse head in Woltz’s bed.
2. The Empire Strikes Back. “Luke, I am your father.”
3. Casablanca. Hmm, anytime Ingrid Bergman is on-screen? Maybe, “Play it, Sam. Play ‘As Time Goes By.’”
4. The Godfather, Part II. Michael kisses Fredo and says, “I know it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart. You broke my heart!”
5. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Tuco running wild through the cemetery trying to find Arch Stanton’s grave.
7. Blade Runner. “I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die.”
8. Singing in the Rain. Gene Kelly’s signature moment
9. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Gandalf confronting the Balrog. “You shall not pass!”
10. Raiders of the Lost Ark. The opening scenes (up until Indy flys off with Jacque on the plane). Establishes Indiana Jones as a movie icon and Harrison Ford as the pre-eminent actor of the last 40 years.

Top 10 albums of all time
1. Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon

It’s all footnotes after that…

I was going to list my Top 10 Guitarists of all time…There’s Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Duane Allman, Dave Gilmour…other than that I don’t really know. Trey Anastasio is very talented. Can’t forget The Edge, and Alex Leifson and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and T-Bone Walker, and Frank Zappa, and Carlos Santana, and George Harrison, and Clapton.

Maybe I’ll have to skip that category…
