great thoughts but I gotta go against you on a few of them. Especially when you go against Michelle Branch..... she's gotta win this time around!
I also am thinking that Evanescense will walk away with at least one statue.

Tru dat on "Times Like These". If that song doesn't get acknowledged in some way, there is no justice in this world. "Someday" by Nickelback finally started to grow on me a couple weeks ago. The guitar solo in "Like A Stone" is definitely one of the more outlandish things I've heard in the last few years. I dunno, I think mb20 have a pretty good chance there...

Glad to see your rock preview (the category nearest and dearest to my heart) was just as well-thought-out and informative as your other previews!
I think the Lips have an outside shot myself, mainly because it was written by ripping off a Cat Stevens song, and Grammy voters will thus, uh, "dig it". Though I think a Grammy for Sigur Ros would be neat too. But it'll never happen. They're too...uh....Icelandic.
And I suppose I'll root for Manson, just because that's the best song I've heard out of him in years. But yeah, Metallica will win.
Bowie needs to teach those red and white whippersnappers a thing or two.
Anyway, nice work. You're my hero today. :)

The Stripes just seem like the obvious winner here because usually they give this award to whoever happens to be also nominated in the "major" categories, as compensation for otherwise giving them the shaft. But you never know. The Lips scored one last year, maybe they'll do it again.

I'm gonna have to go against you on the winner for BEST ALTERNATIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCE. I know everyone is real high on White Stripes but I really like Fight Test by The Flaming Lips. I don't venture into alternative music very often but that song is great music. I really hope it wins but I think your probably right that Stripes will get the Grammy. By the way your Grammy previews are awesome. Keep em coming. Peace.
