Anywhere you go

Written: Jun 17 '07
Pros:Convenient and it works!
Cons:Fades clothing and drying is not instantaneous
The Bottom Line: Great for on the go stain removal

If you are like me, you spill sometimes right? I will admit, I am a messy eater, getting better, but not perfect yet. Weather it be food or, dun dun dun…makeup. I always manage to get something on my new shirt or expensive pants. What do you do? Tide-to-go is my new best friend. I call it “The Miracle Worker”.

My Experience

As a junior in high school, appearance was very important to me. I had planned what outfit I wanted to wear for the following days pep assembly. When I went to locate my favorite teal blues shirt I noticed a spot of makeup right on the belly button. I was fuming! I knew my sister had done it and I was so mad. I threw the shirt in the wash and regrettingly found something else to wear.

I got home from school only to find my washed shirt with the stain still attached. After washing it several more times with nothing happening, I finally decided to give up. Unwilling to throw it away just yet, this shirt sat in the back of my closet for a few months. Then I heard about Tide-To-Go, I decided to give it a whirl! I read the simple directions on the back of the pen like cleaner,
• Remove excess residue from stain
• Press the tip onto the stain several times to release some of the stain remover solution onto the stain
• Rub tip gently on the stain to remove it
• If treated area will be exposed to the sunlight, wipe with a damp cloth or napkin to remove excess solution left on fabric
I’m not going to lie, it took some work and some time. I had to push and scrub about five times before I started seeing any results. But after about fifteen minutes, the spot was gone! That’s why I call this “The Miracle Worker”.

The Bad Part

My stain had been removes, don’t get me wrong, but because of scrubbing so much, in its place it looks like the fabric had been faded. It’s hardly noticeable but it is there if you look closely. This also happened on a pair of pants that I used the pen for. Again, it did get the spill out, but it left a faded spot on my jeans.

The other detail I’m not so impressed with is the drying time. On commercials all you see is someone using Tide-To-Go on a spill and the next thing you know, their shirt is as good as new. Well that just doesn’t happen in the real world. A noticeable wet spot is left in place of the spill and it only takes about fifteen minutes for it to dry. THEN your as good as new.
