The Bottom Line It has to be The People Under The Stairs. It's funny and enjoyable!

Horror movies are my favorite genre of movies. I hate the predictable ones, the "happy end" ones, and the "common story" ones, yet maybe some of my list might have a common story but a great atmosphere. So, here is my list:

10. U TURN (1997) with Sean Penn and Jennifer Lopez
Director: Oliver Stone
Writer/Executive Producer: John Ridley
Good Quality and nice acting.
The greatest UNLUCK that somebody has ever had. That guy gets really desperate with what is happening to him. And that's all because of his car breaking down. Damn if I was him I would try to hit my head on every wall I would find on my way!

9. DEMONS (1985) with Urbano Barberini, Natasha Hovey, Fiore Argento, Karl Zinni
Director: Lamberto Bava
Writer: Dario Argento
The acting is fine. The effects really good.
That one is a movie like every zombie movie but instead of zombies there are demons. Demons who bite other people, and those people who become demons. Yay!

8. MISERY (1990) with James Caan and Kathy Bates
Director: Rob Reiner
Writer: Stephen King
The acting is really good especially Kathy Bates'.
That's about an author who has an accident with his car and a woman takes him to her house to take care of him. She is really a crazy woman...oh..poor author..

7. CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST (1979) with Robert Kerman, Francesca Ciardi, Luca Barbareschi, Perry Pirkanen, Salvatore Basile, Ricardo Fuentes.
Director: Ruggero Deodato
Acting is so realistic. Half of the movie has been recorded by a hand-held camcorder by one of the group that has gone to the mission to find out about those "cannibals"...thus making it more realistic.
That is not for everyone. It is really disturbing by its gory elements. They killed animals to make that movie...that is the animals that are killed on the camera are killed in reality. One could think that the people that are killed may have been killed for real...For those reasons I think not everyone should watch that movie. Other than that, for the gore fans is a must see!

6. THE CHANGELING (1980) with George C. Scott, Trish Van Devere, Melvyn Douglas
Director: Peter Medak
Writers: William Gray, Russell Hunter, Diana Maddox
Very great sound effects.
That movie has a common story. A man in a haunted house trying to keep up with all the weird noises etc. But, what makes it really a great horror movie is the sound effects and the atmosphere. When I watched it, I felt scared to walk in the house in the night by myself...

5. THE HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES (2003) with Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, Sheri Moon, Tom Towles, Rainn Wilson, Karen Black, Matthew McGrory, Chris Hardwick.
Director: Rob Zombie
Writer: Rob Zombie
Very great effects and very psycho acting!
That's what I call the greatest ending in a movie!!! That movie is a total satisfaction. From the beginning till the end!! Very psycho, very chaotic evil!! So great!! Just rent it without many questions...especially for the ones that hate the "good" characters in a movie.

4. MAY (2002) with Angela Bettis, Anna Faris, Jeremy Sisto
Director: Lucky McKee
Produced by: Marius Balchunas, Scott Sturgeon
This movie is about a girl called May. She was bullied by her mates at school when she was really young and so she decided to not have any friends. That resulted in her not having been socialised and so having a really weird behaviour. She still gets rejected by other "important" people in her life which in her way, ruins her life. Really psycho movie!!

3. THE OTHERS (2001) with Nicole Kidman, Fionnula Flanagan, Alakina Mann, James Bentley, Eric Sykes, Elaine Cassidy
Director: Alejandro Amenabar
Executive Producer: Tom Cruise
Great movie, spooky one, with a great atmosphere. Nicole Kidman in the role of a mother with her two young kids trying to live in a house where they are not really alone. The end of it will make you think...

2. DARK PRINCE - THE TRUW STORY OF DRACULA (2000) with Rudolf Martin
Director: Joe Chappelle
That is the true story of the mythical character of Dracula. What I like in this movie is that the "bad" guy (the Dracula), is not crazy, psycho etc, but he has a logic reason for being that harsh and bad. If all movies were like that, all killers would kill even more because of their "reassured" reasons.

1. THE RAVENOUS (1999) with Robert Carlyle, Guy Pearce
Director: Antonia Bird
Great soundtrack!!
When I first saw that movie, I was really haunted by it for days after it. That music was so relaxing giving a really weird viewpoint of the movie making it really disturbing. It's about cannibalism and Robert Carlyle has the greatest role that he ever had. If you watch that movie, I would recommend you to watch it just a few people together without much noise around so that you concentrate at it and it has the full effect on you!

I hope you try any of these!!
