Before writing this review, I browsed through other reviews and was shocked to find a large amount of people very dissatisfied with Addr. Currently I’m running my website off of their servers and must say that I’m extremely satisfied with the service.

For those that don’t know, Addr is a web hosting and design company. Their primary business is setting up virtual servers for individuals or small business to setup their website. Addr like most hosts does a lot of the setup for you. You just give them your info and they’ll do the whole nine yards, domain registration, account activation, etc.

Probably the best selling point of Addr is the price. The cheapest plan is $7.95 a month and provides 50 megs of space along with a lot of features (free cgi, mailing lists, etc.). Naturally the higher up the price structure you go the more features you receive. I am using the $9.95 plan. That’s 100 megs of space, 2 Gigs/month transfer quota, free scripts, mailing lists, etc. Front Page support is included. The online control panel is also very comprehensive. You can manage many features of the site quite easily through the control panel feature.

Considering my needs, that is more than sufficient. The connection speed is great, over several different ISPs the load time good. Overall the service is great. My only complaint though is that Addr is a bit slow responding to e-mails. The turn around seems to be 2-3 days. For me it’s not a big deal since my website is not business, though business may not appreciate that slow of a turnaround.

Considering the reviews I read ealier about Addr, I suspect that the company either went through a management change or just got their act together. The service I’m getting is nothing like what some others have described.

To sum it up; Good service, good price, great deal for those who just want to play around (like me) or need a cheap solution to webhosting.
