Well, I suggest you get the "Pulse" video if you haven't already. The light show is spectacular, even for the Television!!

Let me back up - I see what you're saying now...
I haven't seen PF live, though I would love to do so. I have heard and seen a lot of concert recordings of theirs, and I've enjoyed them all. But you're right - you just can't know what it is to really enojoy PF unless you're actually there - I've heard that from a lot of people.

I saw the "Pulse" tour, how about you ???
UnF'n believable,isn't it??
No one would EVER understand unless they saw Floyd themself what we have witnessed. The "Pulse" video doesn't do them all the justice because of the inability to capture the spectacular light show.

Oh yes I have - Gilmour has a LOT of good solos, a few of them on A Momentary Lapse of Reason - my favorite from that album is Sorrow

well, if Journey is pure evil, then I was quite the nasty boy in high school... I'm largely over them by now, but there are a few songs of theirs that I still enjoy quite a bit.
As for Jane's Addiction and Dave Navarro, that's an excellent choice for guitar - I'm not familiar with a lot of their stuff (bad Andrew, bad Andrew), but what I've heard is really good.

Jane's Addiction - Three Days which is technically alternative guitar, I suppose, but it's wouldn't be half the song that it is without all the yummy guitariness (courtesy of the even yummier Dave Navarro)..
Well, and Journey? Tsk, tsk, Andrew.. Everyone knows that Journey is pure evil! ;)

I would really enjoy getting your perspective on guitar solos, given your qualifications! Thanks for the comment!

And here I had forgotten all about that song. But now that you mention it, that guitar solo was pretty cool...
Nice list - can't wait for more!

I think Prince has a lot of talent! I mostly listen to country music now, but I've been a fan of his since before my country days. I think he is awesome.
Nice Job~

Need some time to think about this...Nice little write up here!
By the way, I realize I haven't left any nice comments for you recently, and I am feeling a bit sheepish about that! I've really loved your latest string of reviews: On Harry Connick, Evanescence, etc. Very well written...

I know solos! Believe me, I do. I'm not sure how to respond yet, although you have chosen some interesting solos for me to ponder...
I'll post another response after I've had the opportunity to think it over! I'll submit a few of my own, perhaps not those found in metal but those solos in mainstream music that moved me the most...
