J,
Well, this goes along with my other superstition that if I say something is going to happen, then it won't. So, I told everyone that I was going to lose, and then I won. I planned it all along.

$100 richer,
Becky

Sue,

This could happen to no one outside the beckytcy family.

I feel like it could happen to the Royal Tenenbaums or something.

can't help but hope that Murray pulls it out

I was definitely hoping for Penn, partly because I knew he'd make an anti-Bush comment. But, also, his acting in Mystic River gave me chills. It was phenomenal. On Saturday, I went to an old Irish pub about a mile from the Sam Adams brewery (fresh beer! -- This part of the comment is for Andrew, too.) called Doyle's where part of Mystic River was filmed.

Hope you win the pool!

I'm still waiting to hear the results... Fingers crossed. An extra hundred bucks would be very nice.

Later,
Becky

Hi Andrew,
Your Lord of the Rings movie won everything! I got bored of the rings.

Now I'm a burnt-up effigy of everything I used to be

At first, I thought that was a Manics quote, but I Googled it and discovered (shock! horror!), it's Robbie Williams?! What has become of you? You used to have such good taste!

intend to, I'll just buy the DVD set.

I get the feeling that I wouldn't like LotR, so I'm not going to bother. I think I could find a better use of my time than watching a seven hour film that I won't enjoy.

Hate his politics, but LOVE his acting!

Well, I love both. I thought his speech was very tasteful and subtle. In fact, I wanted him to say a bit more!

by millinocket, millinocket is a Lead on Epinions in Movies
When my mom went to the horse track for the first (and only) time, she bet on a horse called Energy to Burn who broke his leg coming out of the starting gate and was put to death before her eyes.

This is so sad. Yet hilarious in a twisted way as well. This could happen to no one outside the beckytcy family.

Yesterday I would have been with you on Sean Penn, but we saw Lost in Translation last night, and I can't help but hope that Murray pulls it out. He won't, but it would be cool if he did. For once, two actually worthy performances up for the award!

Hope you win the pool!

Yay! A hat! I had a hat once. Now I'm a burnt-up effigy of everything I used to be. Even my quotes are Bush-poo now...

I'm raising my hand too, "...I think I am one of only 246 people in the country who hasn’t seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies..." I intend to, I'll just buy the DVD set. Anyway, interesting read. We'll see what happens. I've only seen Mystic River, and I hope Penn wins. Hate his politics, but LOVE his acting!
