| susieq112's Full Review: Hampton Inn at North Platte, Nebraska |
During our recent travels we spent a night in North Platte, Nebraska at the Hampton Inn. The Hampton Inn is located just off of I-80, exit 177, in the northeast quadrant of the intersection.
The Hampton Inn features 110 rooms, including a variety of suites. During our stay we had a regular double bed room. Entering our room we found our accommodations pleasant, clean, and just what we needed for a good nights rest.
The rrom is standard, not overly large, but not overly crowded. The room featured a bathroom off of the entry hall with a full bath and shower, sink with plenty of counter space, and of course a toilet. A small closet with bi-fold mirror doors is also located off of the entry hall.
Our room features two full size beds adorned with clean and refreshing linens and three pillow each. Between the beds was a night stand with a clock radio and a telephone. A small chair and ottoman was located in the corner.
Along the opposing wall was a desk with a computer chair, a small three drawer dresser with a 25 LCD TV perched on top and another two drawer dresser next to it. The room featured a small window with an AC/Heat unit which controlled the room temperature very well.
Other amenities in the room included a coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and wireless high-speed internet access.
Cribs, roll a ways and safe deposit boxes are available upon request.
Out of Room Amenities Included:
1.) Business center: The business center featured a computer and printer with internet access, the business center was located just off of the main lobby. The business centers door in kept locked and you must obtain a key at the front desk for access.
2.) Complimentary Breakfast: Breakfast was served from 6am to 10am. Thankful they offered plenty of options for all ranging from biscuits and gravy to fresh fruit to donuts and bagels. Service was good and the host did a wonderful job of keeping the bar full. There was also a lot of dinning room space with plenty of tables. Hampton Inn also has the family in mind for breakfast too and has a couple of highchairs for convenience.
3.) Fitness Room: The fitness room is also located just off of the lobby area and featured two treadmills, it is opened at all times.
4.) Pool: The pool was decent sized offering a shallow four foot end and a small whirlpool off to the side. A small sundeck is located just off of the pool area, opened from 6am to 11pm.
5.) Vending/Ice: Soda Machines and Ice Machines were available next to the elevators on each floor with additional vending machines in the lobby.
Overall
Overall our experience at the Hampton Inn at North Platte, NE was pleasant. The room was very clean and met our expectations. We had absolutely no problems with the staff and Check-In only took about five to ten minutes and staff was polite and helpful if you need something or had a question. All of the areas of the hotel were clean and well kept.
One of our main concerns during this trip was my one year old son. We tried our best to find hotels that offered clean rooms with excellent main service, in this case the Hampton Inn at North Platte, Nebraska is a sparkling example of how well a hotel room can look and even smell (fresh and crisp). The most important question was how safe is the room? This room faired very well for us with only two exposed outlets, which were easily covered up with outlet covers. Otherwise cords for lights, Tvs, phones, etc were all very well tucked away behind furniture, out of sight out of mind. The room was very well organized, clean, and toddler safe.
In the end our room for one night cost just under 110 and we were very pleased with our stay. We did feel the price was a bit high, but for a Friday night it was probably not far of from the other hotels around. If I ventured through North Platte again and was in need of a rest I would probably stay here again.
