I'm sorry but you're just plain wrong (my first write off)

The Bottom Line Just read the thing, OK!!!

Have you ever sat down to watch a film, read a book, play a video game, hell make some toast if that's what floats your boat, and thought to yourself 'You know, I don't understand the reception this game, film, book, thing, has received, everyone else is just plain wrong!!!'? It's something I have been contemplating a lot recently, have a number of reviews I want to write on the subject and so decided to start a write-off on it.

Now what I'm looking for is not anything along the lines of, 2001: A Space Odyssey is respected by nearly everyone for it's amazing cinematography and deep themes, but I find it boring so there. In that case you would not necessarily be disagreeing with them, just not quite agreeing with them. If you get what I mean. You'd be viewing said product from a different angle, but see nothing wrong with a person who appreciates, doesn't appreciate, different aspects of.

I'm also not looking for reviews that say, I once met a person who liked Gigli, they are wrong. What I am looking for is when you look at a product, see what nearly everyone else has said, and felt that it was all just a bunch of crap. Using movies as an example, you may see Ben Hur getting praised for it's amazing acting, yet you feel that old Charlie couldn't act his way out of a paper bag in monsoon. Maybe you've seen Final Fantasy and are sick of people describing the poor story that moved you so much, the crap effects that they were obviously over expecting, or the sheer fact that they don't like the lack of magic, even though you may have thought it would have been worse with magic users cheesing it up. The most obvious example in recent memory are The Matrix films, which have received so many reviews praising their deeply profound deepness, that their shallower than a paddling pool in a drought aspect often gets neglected.

I'm not just looking for film reviews though, other things such as if you're fed up of people complaining about the control system in a video game that feels like second nature to you, or you're fed up of people praising the writing skills found in a book where the writer's grammar skills resemble that of a certain monkey currently owned by badkittyM. Maybe you're fed up of people complaining about the large buttons on a certain mobile phone, when clearly they help to prevent confusion, or you might even be sick of the praise garnered at how well your brand of toaster toasts, when it only does that with tea cakes, but burns anything resembling bread. I'm looking for any product review that you feel like writing, so long as you agree to disagree with everyone else on the subject, for the reasons that they generally provide. Try to make sure you are as insulting, cruel and generally mean spirited as possible, so that anyone who has reviewed that product removes you from their WOT immediately (hopefully Simply_Crispy will get involved, we all know he has a talent for ripping anything and anyone to shreds). Other than that, just have fun, write in any style, and place you like, as long as it is a product review.

This is an open ended write off, otherwise I'd have to reach the end date and actually admit my own flop, so take your time in choosing a product, and like I said, have fun. The only rule is to include either You're just plain wrong, or the initials YJPW W/O in your title, include a link to this post; and leave a comment here.
