Naomi,
Very completely written. One minor point - the blades are user-replaceable at nominal cost. Sears has the refill blades.
Another tip - this unit uses the older Nicad rechargeable battery pack. To maximize its total life cycle, recharge the unit only after it has run down, noticeably. Charging frequently shortens the life cycle of Nicads.

Electric Scissors.... (Reply to this comment)
by ASourdough4
... When I got out of the Navy in 1958, I went to work at a company that made wood-burning placqes and soldering irons. They also had an interesting product call "SNIPPY" shears. That was an electric toy that would, when brand new, cut paper. Its blades were dulled at the points and it worked; but only for a short time because the blades were not hardened steel.
It's Deja Vu all over again with that Black & Decker 'toy'.
Radio Shack has been using blister packs that are not sealed - you simply pull the plastic sides apart and- Presto! It makes a ton of noise when the package is being opened; enough to warn the sales folk that something is happening.
Thanks for the review.

Thank you for the great review Naomi.
These electric scissors will be perfect for me, as I no longer can cut with a scissors. These will be wide enough for comfort and no pain.
Absolutely wonderful, since I am a seamstress. And a seamstress definitely needs a scissors.
Once again thank you, I thought I was going to have to turn in my sewing badge. LOL

I hate those blister packs! I never thought of trying to open them with these. I always cut my hands when opening those sharp packages, so I am definitely going to look for a pair of these Black and Decker scissors!
Thanks for the great review!

have seen these advertised and wanted to pick some up! I bet they would do great on all those evil wire ties they put on toys. Loved your review!
