...to suggest that it is a quick guide rather than a "one stop guide" or "a general guide" to death metal...and considering the fact that you only have a few suggested bands to recommend - Morbid Angel, Cannible Corpse, Cryptopsy, Nile, Emperor...should you update, I might be willing to VH your quick guide?

OK, I'm going to disregard that last comment cause of your youth and all...BUT, I have described Death Metal in my own guide as follows:

"This genre is all about pain and suffering. From the lyrics to the music, the morbid obsession with death is relentless..."

I would add that Death Metal is perhaps the most extreme of all metal genres and styles characterized by a growling vocalist...

Now, I enjoy a lot of various forms of extreme metal, not solely limited to the more extremist bands in the genre. This and the fact that a more comprehensive list of bands would have helped me rate your guide VH...

Sorry, but I seriously question your guide, considering you have not included bands such as: Dark Tranquility, Soilwork, In Flames, Children of Bodom, Kalmah, The Haunted, Vintersorg, Vital Remains, Overkill, Corporation 187, Nile, Emperor, Lamb of God, Carcass, Rotting Christ and The Crown just to name a few of my own FAV...and the list goes on and on and on...

i see your point however i wrote it with the intentions of the beginner to death metal. mentioning Opeth or Dimmu Borgir probably wouldnt have been a good idea because i dont feel they are good bands to start off in death metal.

What about Christian Death Metal (Living Sacrifice or Tourniquet), Progressive Death Metal (Opeth) and Symphonic Death Metal (Dimmu Borgir)? A lot of the information here is accurate and I’m sorry to be the one to tell, but your guide is seriously flawed...
