Evan Baxter has it all - just elected to Congress, a new home in the Virginia suburbs and a wonderful family. While his new job is taking up his time, his family prays for more time from their father. Evan says a prayer too asking God to help him change the world. God delivers by instructing Evan to build an Ark for an inevitable flood that will come in September. Evan finally gets the hint after many messages from God and starts to build the Ark. As his coworkers and family is struggling to determine if he is having a mid life crisis or is just going insane, he continues on the Ark.
Steve Carrell delivers in this movie so well. He along with Wanda Sykes will give you plenty of laughs. Morgan Freeman returns as God and is as funny and well played as he was in Bruce Almighty. Molly Shannon and John Goodman both have roles and do not disappoint you.
The script is well written giving you suprises as well as laughs. The story does not bore you. The movie has no violence, no bad language and is a great family movie.
I went to see this movie with my 14 year old daughter. Many of her friends have seen it and none of us have been disappointed.
