After three months, no problems. Buttons are fine, cheap plastic top is fine. The machine functions flawlessly; I don't even give its purchase a second thought. Talk to me in ten years, we'll see.

Plastic Plastic Plastic (Reply to this comment)

Hi:
I was intrigued by the glowing reviews and went to see it at the store. I was a little disappointed at the amount of plastic. Not only on the cover, but the buttons you mentioned seemed flimsy, and I was leery at the electronics as it could easily fail like it did in your case.
What's your opinion of the plastic buttons and top? Has it been a problem?

Sorry, it occurred to me after posting that it might be construed this way. The washer has computerized controls for almost every conceivable function -- intensity of spin dry, temperature, you can tell it to delay starting 'til a few hours later, etc etc. It's got enough LED's on the panel to make it glow in the dark! My point is you can decide on a setting and forget about it; thereafter every time you press START it runs the same cycle. That's what I like about it -- simplicity, without compromising hands-on control if you need it.

Are you saying that this model only has a START button? Or does it have other options that you can program once and then hit Start for the rest of your life?

(who couldn't live with out hot/cold/warm or Heavy Duty/Regular/PermPress options!)
