Now that fall is here and peaches are plentiful we need to enjoy them in as many ways as possible. It will be a long time till we get fresh ones again. Here's a couple of ways we enjoy them. I'm sure you will to.
PEACH CUSTARD CREAM PIE
1 (9 inch) pastry crust
4 cups fresh slice peaches
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup sour cream
Scald the peaches, remove the skins, slice thin.
Combine sugar,flour,salt,egg,vanilla,almond extract and
sour cream, Add peaches.
Turn into pie crust.
topping
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/4 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Combine together. Sprinkle on top.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Lower heat to 350 degrees and bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
Another very simple and great tasting treat that we love. Just scald peaches and slip off the skins, and thinly slice peaches into an ice cream dish sprinkle a little sugar over the top and add ice cream. You will enjoy this combination.
