Poor customer service (not 7x24)

The Bottom Line: Cingular does not offer 7x24 customer service so if you have a problem on the weekend you're out of luck until Monday.

Cingular's service plans are good. My major complaint is that customer service is not available 7x24. If you have a problem on the weekends (Saturday starting at 5 PM), don't expect to get any help until Monday morning. So if you have problems with your voicemail, receiving calls, or whatever, it won't be resolved. Basically you're out of luck if you have problems on the weekend. The customer service number says to go to the website if you have any problems, but the customer care section is worthless. You can send an email and expect a response in 2 days. Not only that, but they don't have a way of indicating that you have a problem. On the web page you can choose: question, comment, or suggestion. I have a suggestion, have people staffed for customer service 7x24!

Secondary complaint is that Cingular is not covered in Manhattan. If you live in Manhattan or the surrounding area, I wouldn't recommend Cingular. They offer wireless web, voicemail notification, and a bunch of other niceties that don't work in that area. It is served through AT&T (roaming)
