Holy cow, shop CDnow!
Good prices. Speedy service. Easy check out. CDnow.com is convenient.
CDnow.com - This company has been around for quite a while.
They acquired my favorite online music store a while back and I became one of their customers. At the time, I was not sure if the service and selection would remain the same. It didn't.
It got better! :)
The prices are a big part of what keeps me, as a customer, coming back. It is so much less than what I would pay at a shop in my area. Yes, that is even with the shipping charges!
It does not take much for the savings of an online purchase vs. big store to translate into another CD - $3 here, $4 there. It certainly does add up.
Selection - It just so happens that I like music from artists that most stores do not carry. Sometimes, I want music that is not the most current. I might recall a song I haven't heard in years but would still enjoy listening to if I could just find it. I can search by song title, the artist and label. Chances are, they have it.
The label search is great if you enjoy a certain sound or genre.
CDnow carries products from last year and even earlier! Is that so unusual? It can be. In my experience, the local stores don't carry a very deep inventory on all artists. I can almost always find what I am looking for at CDnow.com, though.
It is great to be able to see all albums from your favorite artist that are available through them. Especially if you didn't have "music money" at the time a certain project was first released.
I like the Album Advisor feature a lot. It is both helpful and entertaining. (Okay, I admit it. I think it makes a great toy! It's funny to see the results.)
The audio clips help me verify that I have have chosen the right album so I use this feature often.
Prices - Many of their items are 30% off. The shipping changes are reasonable - low enough to make it worth it to buy just 1 CD. After comparing prices with other companies, I usually find CDnow's items cost less.
Service and shipping - Shipping times are usually super quick. My items seem to go out within 24 hours.
Navigation - Check out is easy. I would suggest using the site map for the best view of their site.
