200 Reviews Already?

The Bottom Line 100 took a while, another 100 went by quicker - here's to my 200th review at Epinions!
Wow – three years to get to 100 reviews and about 5 months to get to 200 reviews. I guess at this rate of increase, in mid-June I’ll be hitting 300 reviews. Somehow I doubt that would be happening. It’s kind of cool though and a pretty nifty milestone no matter how long it took me to get here.
I’ll credit it to the fact that I’ve found that the more you work on Epinions, the more reviews you want to write and the more time you spend working on it. I’ll also credit it to the fact that I’ve been having plenty of downtime in my job lately and rather than sitting and staring out the window or playing solitaire (which would just be too obvious that I didn’t have enough work to do), I’ve taken to writing review after review. I think there were some days that I managed to get out four reviews in a single day. So with the spring coming and my inbox finally managing to get a few items in it, I imagine I’ll be busier and the reviews will decrease accordingly.
Plus my partner and I are in the process of remodeling a new place for ourselves. His sister recently purchased a 2-family home and we are moving in to one half, she into the other. I know, anything with family somehow turns into a crisis – but for my own sanity, I’ve just stuck to home improvement projects and stayed out of anything else. In the process I discovered I paint for crap, but that my remodeling skills are good. So I do all the prep work and my partner goes and paints. Right now I’m in the process of ripping out and redoing a bathroom.
Thus it’s pretty likely that for April, I won’t be online as much as I have been – between the housework and then moving. Somehow I imagine that when it comes to that moving, I’ll be moving everything on April 30th because my partner has to work and we left something until the last moment…
I’m going to guess that you’ll see some home improvement related reviews fairly soon from me – This Old House Magazine and Fine Homebuilding were just the tip of the iceberg. I’ve got plenty of new toys to review.
Between 100 and 200, I’ve also managed to pick up another hat – now I’m an Advisor in addition to a Top Reviewer in the Magazine & Newspapers section of Epinions - it was exciting to become that much more of a member of the Epinions community.
I’ve really enjoyed getting to know new people here on Epinions and finding more and more great writers out there. I only hope that my writing and my reviews are as good as some of the ones that I read.
Look at that, the sun just came out, it’s about 60 degrees here in Boston and it’s springtime! I’m just glad that a long cold New England winter is over – now it’s time to enjoy it.
