***Or at the very least teased horribly. Some people just don't think.
I'm going to name my kid God and see what happens.

People never learn. Their kids are going to get beat up when they get older just by their names. Hopefully, this won't be the case.

***That is very true..and Apple and Moses are way more normal than what some have named their children. Parents want to be different and end up giving their child a horrid name..I think a lot of kids are going to grow up and be really upset with their parents over their names.
One of the guys from Penn & Teller gave his daughter a horrible name. I can't remember exactly what it was, but I think Crimefighter is in there as a middle name..or maybe a third name. I'm thinking she has a very long name in addition to it being weird.

This is true. It helps to understand the characters better but it doesn't necessarily mean that he will always be right for the part.
Exactly.
Just a tad. Considering all the names celebrities are naming their kids, like Apple, Moses and whatnot, Kal-El seems pretty tame.

***I had no clue that Depp had been interested. I have heard about how much of a fan of comics Cage is, but that doesn't necessarily mean he should be in the movies.

***I thought he went a tad far naming his son Kal-El too. That's just..odd even if you are a fan of Superman. Though I supposed it could have been worse..he could have gone with Bizaro or Doomsday or something. lol

Was that a threat? LMAO
Maybe..lol ;)
After all you did instill the nightmarish image.
Depp was interested in the role back in 2001. Cage got wind of this and lobbied himself for the lead role. After all, the man is comic book fan and has Ghost Rider tattooed on his arm. Then again, this is the guy who named his kid Kal-El. That's taking it just a little too far.

Marie,
***I really didn't need the image of Nicolas Cage in tights in my brain..thank you sooo much for that horror. If I have nightmares, you'll pay. ;)

***Anyway, I did enjoy this one even though Cage isn't one of my favorites. At least someone got a clue and kept him from being Superman. I hadn't heard that Johnny Depp had been interested in the part. That would have been interesting.

Sue,
***Now I have the image of Nicholas Cage in tights burned in my mind. Even the thought of Johnny Depp as the Ghost Rider can't erase the horror.
Sad but true. The imagery leaves a bad imprint in the mind. Curse me for painting such a vivid image.
***I may need therapy.
So says the Bead Demoness, aka the CCL, aka the Goddess Isis. Yeah, I can see where therapy is needed. ;)

diseased,
***You're right, most comic book movies are terrible. I think the ONLY good one I've seen was the second X-Men. That's because that film didn't rely on action as much as the other films.
X2 was a good example of how to do a great superhero movie, and a team movie at that as well. Fantastic Four should really take notes on this one.
***I think the problem is that these movies are always trying to cram 200 issues of comic into a 2-hour movie. I mean, can't they just take a little storyline and make it as good as possible???
They don't even have to start at the beginning, like for X-Men I would have loved to see Deadly Genesis turned into a film, or Spiderman's story "Kraven's Last Hunt". I think that would work a lot better than trying to make everything epic.
I agree. Too much is happening in a short amount of time and it doesn't do the movie, or the characters, any justice by cramming everything into one film.
The Kraven storyline would be fantastic but then Spidey would get an "R" rating as a result. Or maybe not.
