...that I'm not missing much by skipping OT4. The price was a little steep for me. (Maybe by the time they come out with OT5 I'll be able to afford it?)

I have never played Oregon Trail III (even though I own every other version of OT). But it sounds suspiciously similar to OT IV. In fact, I couldn't find one difference except for the fact that IV doesn't have the various difficulty levels.
I totally agree with you about Oregon Trail II. Somehow, for all their glitziness and technology, the subsequent versions fail to be very interesting. Whenever I put in the IV CDs, I end up giving up my game halfway through and switching to II!
Isn't it wonderful being able to ramble in a friend's comment section? ;-) Nice review, btw, but you knew that!
