The Bottom Line Who'd have thought a shopping list could e the basis for a great poem!??!?! Well it isn't - it's the basis for this one instead.
While this wasn’t originally written for LoisLane05’s Found Poem WO, but it kind of fits in with the theme pretty well. I thought so, anyway, and who am I to argue with me? ----- Shopping list, oh Shopping List, where would we be without you? * Some washing up liquid we surely do need And some chicken breasts upon which to feed Not to mention the handwash for when we've been to the loo And some toilet block to make it flush nice and blue For our lunches this week I'll get some bread rolls And some cold meats to put in them and fill our stomach's holes Of course, we need sweetcorn to add some colour to our plates And maybe some biscuits for when we entertain our mates Pizzas are always good, in our freezer these always belong # Another necessity is milk, needed to make our bones strong Gammon Steak is what we'll buy to eat tonight The "Love Apple"... we'll get some Tomatoes, right? Potassium comes in the form of lovely Bananas And finally, to rhyme with that (sort of...) - Satsumas! ^ * I actually did use this as a shopping list one day! The ordinary kind was just too boring... well it was just that sort of day... ;-) # - Until they belong in our stomachs, that is. What happens to them after that is not a matter for discussion. ^ - Well, sultanas would have been a far better rhyme, but they don't sell them at Aldi. ----- You must check out some of the other entrants too (linked to from the main WO page, which is linked to above, so I won’t link to it again here as the more links there are, the more chance there is that my link will be the weakest link… Thanks for having the surreal experience of trying to make sense of this rubbish (US translation – Trash, Junk).
