Hi Jana,
We have some pretty wild nites with our 19 mo old twins, but it probably isnīt as severe. 2 weeks ago, my daughter passed out after crying like crazy. Couldnīt bring her back. Took her to the ER where she came to. She was admitted. A neurosurgeon took 5 minutes to determine that she has BHS, Breath Holding Syndrome. She starts breathing as soon as she passes out, so there is no real danger other than if she were to fall on something. 5% of kids have it, according to a website. It was news to me.
Anyway, thanks for the info. Iīll take whatever i can get on this scary stuff.
Good luck, too.

My child, who is now 21, had these night terrors. Thanks for bringing back the bad memories! Ha! You did a fantastic job on this review. I am sure that it will be most helpful to readers.

My best,

This Has Got To Be Scary (Reply to this comment)

Poor little Magg. And Magg's mommy certainly deserves sympathy and kudos for trying to resolve the problem. So many parents - my mother, at least - used to think I was screaming just to wake everybody else up and wanted attention. I was older, though, and concocted some dreadful nightmares. I hope everybody with a child reads this, and I applaud you for writing it.

Great information (Reply to this comment)

My almost 6 year old has been waking up on average of once a week and coming into my room in the middle of the night. I am able to put him back to sleep with no problem, but I was wondering about bringing it up with his doctor at his checkup later this month.

It doesn't sound like he has night terrors, but perhaps he does have some sort of sleeping disorder.

Thanks for great info. I'm glad things are better for all in your family now! Restful sleep is most important.

Very Informative! (Reply to this comment)

My husband is a VERY active sleeper (sleep walking, talking, etc), and our son is starting to show signs of following in Dad's sleeping footsteps. No night terrors yet, but I found your piece very informative, and I'll definitely remember this should he do anything like that in the future. Thanks for sharing this with everyone -- I'm sure it will help many others!

Thanks again,

Scary stuff (Reply to this comment)
by shantel575
My 5 year old had these until he was 2 years old... thankfully he outgrew them and has only had one or 2 episodes in the last 3 years. Scary stuff though... you feel so helpless!

Thanks for sharing.. maybe it'll help someone that doesn't know what is happening (like me!) because for a while I had no clue what was going on!

Thanks for reading.

I was hoping that folks would see it and then know if it were to happen to them it isnt an isolated experince.

I had no idea what we were dealing with and at first thought she was having sezuires.

Then she began to fight back, and knew something was terribly wrong.

Hopefully it will help someone...

Marcy thats horrible-why didnt anyone comfort you? Maggie has a kitten (its real not stuffed) she takes to bed with her, but her bed is also OUR bed.

I cant sleep knowing she is in her bed and afraid. I know better but cant stand to here her cry out for me, so we hope she'll either a) grow out fo sleeping with momma or b) get married and move out! Hee heee....

Im sorry you had such a rough time-I cant imagine how scared you must have been :0(

for an excellent review with excellent advice.

My son has only had this happen once but it was a bit scary. I think this review is important for all parents to read and be familiar with. You just never know when it may happen to your child.

Thank you.
