Senseo locked lid opening tip (Reply to this comment)
by amrop
This is to be added to the Senseo coffee machine tips:
To get a locked Senseo lid open sooner than several days, put it in the refrigerator (NOT the freezer!) for about 10 hours. Once the lid opens, give it time to reach room temperature before using it, as the sensors inside seem to need recovery time. The first time I tried this, my machine had been locked up for two weeks (after experimenting with a reusable filter and probably not being careful about cleaning grinds from the outside of it).

Weakest Coffee (Reply to this comment)
by msteiny
I am at a loss to see how Phillips claims that over 500,00 have been sold when the coffee this puts out is so weak. I know Europeans wouldn't stand for such lame coffee. And if you do adjust the water regulator, that'll jack up the price of a cup even higher. I am very disappointed in the machine and am sending it back to Amazon.com for a refund. If they won't take it back, look for it on ebay.

Help finding water regulator (Reply to this comment)
by remydog30
I am intrigued at the possibility of adjusting the amount of water used in my Senseo. I looked for where the access might be under the machine, and other than the four rubber feet that might be removed to find screws, there was nothing.
Can you help me out on this, perhaps posting or emailing a picture? I can be reached directly at: epinions.com "at" spamex "dot" com.
Thanks.

four paws,
"I'm assuming if I drop by some Sunday afternoon, I could taste a cup of this "nectar"?"
I'm not revealing my Sunday afternoon activities here, but I can reveal the not-so secret fact that the Senseotian is now coming to the U.S.A. too, as well as the not completely unrelated very reliable rumour that PrizeMummy will be organising a coff-ee-off with a senseotional give-away for a lucky participant.

this sounds like so much fun... I'm assuming if I drop by some Sunday afternoon, I could taste a cup of this "nectar"? I can practically smell the wonderous aroma. Heck, I've never been on the cutting edge of anything.
Another reallllllllly fine review. Thanks for the visual and scentual.

MoccaFull,
"yet I've checked, and so far, coffee, espresso, cappuccino, etc., are still in the clear, even with their addicting properties."
There are decaf pads, but you mean to say that there is something about this machine that makes other coffee suddenly okay for you?
"I'm looking forward to testing it frequently."

FreebyMom,
"I'm going to direct our lucky H&G folks right here to find out the ins and outs of the Senseo."
Lucky indeed, a free Senseo machine is niiice.
"I'm getting more and more excited about the prospect of having one of these for my very own."
I am one of those silly consumers that actually paid for the thing, but more than a year later, I am still happy with it.

yet I've checked, and so far, coffee, espresso, cappuccino, etc., are still in the clear, even with their addicting properties. Good for me!
Thank you most humbly for all the information on this futuristic little number. I'm looking forward to testing it frequently.

Fabu Revu Mobipoo! (Reply to this comment)
by pogomom, in Home and Garden
I'm going to direct our lucky H&G folks right here to find out the ins and outs of the Senseo.
It seems to have some of the same features as my espresso machine including the build up of steam if the filter/holder isn't pristine.
Honestly, I'm getting more and more excited about the prospect of having one of these for my very own. Thank you!
