The Bottom Line a final word: comfort and fit
i may not be able to offer you insightful details into the types of cleats one should buy, but i hope my expeirence will be able to offer some suggestions. i started off the season as a complete novice to rugby/ soccer. at the beginning i bought a pair of adidas manic SG because rugby (i started off with rugby at the start of the term) does not allow the use of mouldded cleats. it felt great in terms of the fit, it felt snug and also the feel to the ball was great however, as time went on, i could feel the studs almost 'poking' through the sole especailly playing on firm ground. after christmas i switched to soccer, at first it felt alright, but the position of the stud kept on making the bone on my big toe feel absolutely uncomfy, as a result i am going to choose a pair of moulded cleats for soccer. i havn;t bought my moulded cleats yet, but one thing i could say is that aim for at least medium priced cleats, not only that it lasts longer, but also it keeps your interest in the sport since these petty injuries really do discourage a beginner from pursuing it. my pair of cleats were problaby the cheapset ones i could have got after price reduction. i would go for nike or adidas. play safe for brand names i find nike a bit wide on the front sole whilst adidas gives a better hug. Fit is the most important for performance sports, be it athletics or soccer. therefore buy ones that are totally fit with your foot shape. spaces within the sole promotes blisters from forming and also declines the touch the ball. one may not recognizethe improtant of the touch of the ball until you have the chance to compare it. The nike vapour for me is more on the flashy side, sen on ther other sites that the fit is not suitable either. adidas remains to be the old/traditional brand. |
