Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
Le Chevalier D'Eon is historical fiction. The story takes place in France in the mid-1700s. The main character is D'Eon de Beaumont, a secret servant of the King of France. D'Eon is troubled by the mysterious death of his sister Lia de Beaumont.
Plot Summary:
The story takes D'Eon and a group of loyal Frenchmen throughout France and, later, into Russia in search of Lia's killers. D'Eon and the group become members of the King's secret organization known as Le Secret du Roi.
The villains include aristocrats and religious fanatics. Spell casting poets turn young women into gargoyle-zombies and seem to be attempting to bring down the monarchy. Ooh, creepy!
In order to avenge her death, Lia sometimes possesses D'Eon's body. This happens during important fight scenes and gives D'Eon added strength and skill in swordsmanship. Initially, D'Eon does not know this happens. But he quickly learns and accepts it.
It's a tense, imaginative action/mystery movie - with a little "horror" thrown in.
"[Le Chevalier D'Eon] approaches an environment that is rarely animated. It presents characters with intriguing moral complexity. It leaves open room for interpretation. It offers blazingly exciting action. What more can one hope for in anime?"

Conclusion:
This is one of my favorite anime series in a long time. I have the first three DVDs that have been released and plan on buying the whole series. I love the historical period it's set in, the characters are amazing, the action is intense and the animation is superb.
This is a great anime to share with people who are nervous about watching anime because it's not "cool". If they don't like Le Chevalier D'Eon, they don't like movies. It's that good.
Thanks for reading!

I also recommend checking out the official homepage of the series: www.advfilms.com/titles/lechevalier
They have 2 trailers you can watch and a lot of good background information.
Enjoy the movie. Or, "I shall take my vengeance." Just kidding. But seriously...watch the movie.
