Bowflex fell on my daughter (Reply to this comment)
by louan
We have the Bowflex Ultimate 2. Two years ago my daughter, 13 at the time, who was tall enough to reach the arm pulls attachment that was resting on the hooks (5'3" 110 lbs), and too impulsive for her own good (even though we had told her not to hang on it before) pulled the whole damn thing on top of herself. When I ran in there I thought for sure she was crushed. Luckily she only ended up with a laceration on her head and a valuable lesson. At the time I googled bowflex and tipping/falling/crushing and didn't come up with anything. I recently retold the story and they asked if I had let anyone know so I googled it again and found this. I was surprised she was able to pull it over and even more surprised she didn't get killed. We still have it but I am super vigilant when we have kids over who might be tall enough to reach that attachment. I would like to get rid of the thing though.

Buyer beware... (Reply to this comment)

Thanks again for moving this piece to the correct section, and for taking the time to write it. Warnings such as this are important when considering any equipment, and the popular Bowflex Power Pro has sold well enough that many current owners may not know of its possible defects.
Keep up the good work,
Openroad
