Gatelys.com...what a disappointment. This site has everything under the sun!!! LOL. The thing is they have a wonderful guarantee, they've been in business since 1917 and their motto is 'Service, quality, and reliability since 1917'. Unbelievable!! Here's what happened to me.
Two weeks ago I placed an order on this site. After placing the order I decided I needed to make sure the order was expedited as it was a scooter for our Granddaughter and we wanted it to be there for her birthday on 7/3. I called and talked to a CSR named Brittney and told her we would need to cancel if it couldnt be there by 7/2 as our daughter and her family were leaving for vacation the morning of 7/3. She assured me she would expedite the order and request a 7/2 delivery and that we didnt need to cancel. What a lie!! Each time we went on the web site to check the order status it told us it was still being processed. I also sent several emails to customer service and never had a response. And yet our payment was processed immediately.
Since this was the first time we ordered from them and and we read about their 100% guarantee, this rang a warning bell in our minds. Noone responded to me after leaving 2 voicemails, sending countless emails and even sending several faxes. When I finally got through to s supervisor on the 3rd they told me the scooter had been placed on backorder because they were out of the color I ordered! Not only did they not call me to inform me of this but I was left under the impression that it was being expedited to arrive on 7/2 or 7/3. When talking to the supervisor I was told that they would either give me 10% off or immediately credit my account. I told him to immediately credit our account. It has been 3-4 business days and our account is still not credited.
I had to go to Wal-Mart.com, order another scooter and have it shipped next day. This is unacceptable and I have filed a complaint with an online source. Today, when I notified them of this I was told my credit was issued today but have yet to see it on our bank account.
We tried to get the name and number/address of the owners and President or Chief CEO so that I could write them if we didn't get a response. But noone was able to give us that. I finally filed a complaint on a web site and threatened them with reporting them to the BBB and I received an email saying my order was canceled today and a credit was issued. We'll see!! Please do not order from this web site. I have done a lot of online ordering and never had trouble but will never order through them again.
